Something Scary:

"Sinister"

What's it about?

A true crime novelist, Ellison Oswalt, moves into a new house when he finds a box of Super 8 films that show the horrific murders of families. Determined to figure out these crimes, Ellison begins digging deeper into the past, where he discovers sometimes things are better left unknown.

Why should you watch it?

Sinister is one of my favorite scary movies. It has enough of a story to keep you interested and enough jump scares to keep you on the edge of your seat. Someone recommended this movie to me 2 years ago late at night and I was intrigued enough to watch it right then and there at 2:00 in the morning. It's safe to say I had a hard time falling asleep that night.

Something to bring on the Feels:

"Short Term 12"

What's it about?

Grace and her long-term boyfriend, Mason work at a group home for troubled teens named Short Term 12. Grace and Mason must take care of all of their charges but also must try to keep their relationship thriving. When a new girl named Jayden comes in, Grace bonds with her over their backstories.

Why should you watch it?

My best friend in high school made me watch this movie (probably in forensic science class). I immediately fell in love with this movie and I continue to share it every chance I get. I related to a lot of the characters in various ways and it helped me to get through a dark part in my life.

Something to Make You Laugh:

"Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"

What's it about?

Kimmy Schmidt is a 29-year-old woman who was kidnapped and locked in a bunker. She is found and released after 15 years. She decides to move to New York City where, instead of being a celebrity, she's just Kimmy.

Why should you watch it?

The catchy theme song alone is enough to get you hooked, "UNBREAKABLE! THEY ALIVE, DAMMIT! IT'S A MIRACLE!" It's a rule that when watching this hilarious show with me, you have to sing-scream all the lyrics to the intro song. Kimmy Schmidt with the mind of a 15-year-old will make you feel like you have all your shit together. Even if in reality you don't.

Something to Make You Cry:

"A Girl Like Her"

What's it about?

A teen enlists the help of her best friend to help prove that she's being bullied by the most popular girl in school. It is old mostly from two points of view in documentary style.

Why should you watch it?

I watched this movie in an airport and was absolutely captivated. The movie explains both sides of a bullying situation. It deals with some events that unfortunately many high school students really do have to deal with.

Something to Binge Watch:

"Orange is the New Black"

What's it about?

Based on one woman's account of a federal prison, the main character, Piper Chapman, happily engaged to boyfriend Larry, is convicted of a crime committed 10 years prior, when she was *gasp* a lesbian. The show goes through the racial dynamics of a prison as well as Chapman's complicated relationship with former girlfriend, former crime partner, and current fellow inmate, Alex Vause.

Why should you watch it?

Seriously? It's 2017; if you haven't watched this show yet you must be living under a rock. Or maybe you don't have Netflix access — in which case, why are you even reading this article? In all seriousness. OITNB is a great show, filled with witty jokes, heart-wrenching backstories, and just enough queer love interests to keep my little gay heart happy. It's the perfect time to start watching this show right now because season 5 premieres on June 9, 2017. There's only 4 seasons each with 13 episodes, mostly under an hour long. You could watch 3-4 episodes per week and be done before season 5 is released!

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
