If you're anything like me, Netflix and Chill really just means that. I was never one to sit around for hours with my eyes glued to a TV/computer screen until I began my journey with Netflix and now I find myself breezing through series after series, always wanting more. So, when you decide to make the commitment or you're looking for a new show to get hooked on, here's a few series that I recommend.
1. Grey's Anatomy
If you're not already hooked on this American medical drama, I'm sure you're sick of the everyday tweets and pictures regarding this show - because, well so was I. The beginning of my freshman year of college, I made the decision to begin watching this highly talked about series and let me tell you it was the best decision I have ever made. It took me over a year to finish 11 seasons and I wish I never had to end. So please, if you haven't already, please start NOW. This is your sign. You won't regret it.
2. Once Upon A Time
If you've never heard of this show, you're really missing out. I only recently started it and although it I admit it starts out a little slow, this show is one you HAVE to watch. It focuses on a story book in which the evil queen casted a spell on all of the characters and bringing them into the real world. They now all live in a town called Storybrook where a little boy finds the story book and begins to put the pieces together. It features popular stories like Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen and so much more! I'm actually mad that I never thought of this.
3. Bates Motel
This show is the perfect balance between romance, comedy, mystery, etc. A motherand son move into a new house and own the motel on the property. The previous family's owner comes to meet the new owners and things immediately go bad. I'm usually not even a big fan of murder mysteries and shows like this one, but I watched three full seasons in a matter of two weeks. And on top of all the killings and secrets in this town, we later find that one of the main characters Norman Bates is suffering from a mental disorder. What kind of disorder, you ask? Looks like you'll have to watch and find out for yourself.
4. Orange is the New Black
I haven't actually started this series being that I now have to watch season 12 of Grey's Anatomy, season 4 of Bates motel and finish Once Upon a Time, but this one is next on my list. At first, I was very hesitant to even consider this show because I just wasn't all that interested. But, one day in my Theorizing Communications and Media Arts class we watched an episode in class and analyzed it - and boy was I hooked. I just wanted to keep watching more. It was the only time I didn't want to leave that class and believe me that was rare. So if you're sitting around looking for something to start next, I highly recommend OITNB.
5. Private Practice
SPOILER ALERT, I REPEAT SPOILER ALERT!!! Private Practice is a bit of a spin on Grey's Anatomy because a few seasons into the show Addison Shepherd leaves. But don't worry, she's not gone for good. She left to start her own "private practice," get it? Well this show focuses on Addison's new career without any of those Grey's Anatomy kids. And although she seems to have moved on to bigger and better things, she still does make an occasional appearance on Grey's. So once you finish Grey's (because if you haven't already, I know you will) this one should definitely come next.
