Any time of the year is a great time to sit down with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy a nice read. Some books are better to read in certain seasons, though. Upon hearing their titles the immediate connotation that follows is bound to one season.
Summer has begun, and although many of you may have some exhausting future coursework required summer vacation reads ahead of you, it is always a positive action to set down the book you are being forced to read, and pick up one that you are choosing to read. I know that when I do this, it keeps my love of literature and reading in general alive.
Here are some books that are simply perfect to read at poolside, on the beach or even on your back porch during these few months of summer.
1. "Paper Towns" by John Green
Many of you may have already read this book, since John Green became abundantly popular years ago, but his books are always a nice and easy read. They are also great for sitting against a windowsill and sipping tea whilst reading aloud to your cat.
2. "Fifty Shades of Grey" by E L James
I cannot count on one hand how many people I have seen reading this book at my neighborhood pool in the last few years, including this one!
3. "The Longest Ride" by Nicholas Sparks
Nicholas Sparks writes many romance novels with the same kind of formula, and one part of that formula includes many summer settings.
4. "Eleanor & Park" by Rainbow Rowell
This is one of my favorite books. It is filled with so much beautiful emotion and a wonderful story. I read it a few summers ago, and I still cannot get over how much I adored the authenticity portrayed in this love story.
5. "The Girls" by Emma Cline
This is a book that I intend on reading this summer, as it has been highly appreciated by many critics. It came out this year and is supposed to be quite interesting.
Go ahead and pull out your lawn chairs, grab one of these books and read the summer away!
