5 Must Have Makeup Products For Under $15

I love makeup. It has become such a hobby for me. Makeup is my paint, and my face is my canvas--it's a creative process, really. Most people think that in order to have good, quality makeup, you have to spend a fortune on high-end name brands. Makeup can be EXPENSIVE, but it doesn't have to be in order for it to be of great quality.

Here are some of the best (& affordable) make up products that you need to start incorporating into your daily routine:

1. Physician's Formula CC Cream

CC (color correcting) cream is great for reducing redness and blotchiness on the skin as well as blurs the signs of aging. It typically has a high SPF to protect the facial skin. It is super lightweight and tinted so, if you wanted sheer coverage, it can be a replacement for a foundation. I like to use this as sort of a primer for my foundation. I can't get enough of it! You can get it at Target for only $8.99.

2. L'Oréal Infallible Foundation

This full coverage, 24-hour foundation is the ideal foundation. It has a smooth texture and is super long lasting so there is no need to worry about it coming off during the day. It also has SPF in it to insure protection. It comes in a pro-matte and pro-glow formula. Personally, I love the pro-matte. It is available at Ulta Beauty for $12.99.

3. NYX Born To Glow Illuminator

I love this product. I received it in one of my Ipsy bags, and I have been obsessed with it ever since. It gives your skin such a healthy glow. Add just a touch of it on your cheekbones, and you'll be good to go. It is also great to use for contouring. You can pick one up at Ulta Beauty for $7.49.

4. NXY Super Skinny Eye Marker

This eyeliner makes getting the perfect wing so easy. Its marker design allows for better control and precision. It is also very long lasting and does not smudge. Applying your eyeliner has never been easier. It is at Target for only $8.69.

5. L'Oréal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara

I have used this mascara for years because I have not found one that works better for me. It elongates my lashes and makes them look thicker. The application brush is designed so that it separates the individual lashes to make them fan out around the eye. It also DOESN'T CLUMP, and that is the main thing I look for in a mascara. Side note: I have super sensitive eyes, and it has never once bothered them. I could speak volumes about this mascara, but I think it does that itself. It is available at Ulta Beauty for $8.99

These are products that I use on my face every single day. They are high quality and super affordable!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
