The 5 Must-Have Summer Beauty Essentials

I love the heat, and pretty much everything else about summer. Whether its being able to go to the beach whenever with friends, or enjoying a beautiful summer lunch outside. Summer is just my season, but the effects of the sun can be harsh on my skin. These our some of my top summer beauty product essentials to help my skin and I get through the warm season.

1. Mario Badescu Rose water Facial Spray, $5-7 online and at Ulta Beauty Stores

This spray is more than amazing. I can genuinely say I cannot live without this facial spray in my life. This facial spray from Mario Badescu's skin care line contains the active ingredients; rose water and Aloe Vera to naturally balance, refresh and hydrate your skin. It is especially hydrating in the warmer months when your skin can be feeling a little tight and dry or maybe you're just hot. It'll hydrate and refresh you without adding extra oil, and can be even used to set your make up. It is such a reasonable price, I suggest everyone to give it a try.

2. Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2, $14 at Ulta Beauty Stores

This clarifying lotion aka toner by Clinique is one of the best toners I have ever used. During the summer months while you're sweating and it's easier for oil to get trapped into your pores, it is extremely important to keep your skin and pores clean. I suggest this Clinique toner #2 which is made for dry and/or combination skin. After you're done cleansing your face use this toner on a cotton ball to rid your skin of the left over film your cleanser leaves and removes your skin's excess oil before applying your moisturizer helping whichever moisturizer you use function better. It is sensitive enough to use during the day and night without drying your skin. This toner actually helps balance your skin's natural properties while leaving your skin with such an amazing feeling after you use it (really it has a 'cool' like feel).

3. Urban Decay de-slick Setting Spray, $14 for 1.0 oz, $30 for 4.0 oz
Available online and cosmetic stores

Urban decay's setting spray is a miracle worker for those who wear make up especially in the Summer months. Summer can bring out more oil than ever in your skin which can cause you to look oilier and your make up to dissipate from your face easier. This spray by Urban Decay keeps your make up fresh, and removes the unwanted shine. Hello to a beautiful matte face! I can truly say it helps your make up last all day to help ensure those summer pictures come out good. If you have more dry skin naturally but still want to lose some oil and have longer wear of your make up they also make an original formula of this product, "All nighter" which works just as well. This product is truly worth the money.

4. Palmer's Cocoa Butter Lip Balm, 1.99 at local Drug Stores
Your lips can easily become dry and/or sun burnt during the warmer months. This Cocoa Butter Chapstick is one of the best I have ever used, it is a natural balm that contains sunscreen and keeps your lips luscious, moisturized and soft.

5. Sun Bum SPF 30 sunscreen, $15.99 at Ulta Beauty Stores

Sunscreen the most important of all. The sun can increase your skin's aging and cause cancer. No matter your skin tone sunscreen should never be forgotten. I love these spray on sunscreens because it doesn't leave a super thick white film or look on your skin....& who doesn't wanna prepare for your skin's future aging. It also has a great banana like smell.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
