My personal Top 5!

Hocus Pocus

I would be out of line if I didn't put this fan favorite. I sincerely hope you all have seen this one if not, GO WATCH IT!! This movie is about three witches who are brought back to life by accident. They need the souls of children to keep them looking young, so they set out to try and find as many as possible. Max and his younger sister decide to put a stop to this, since they did accidentally bring them back to life by lighting the magical candle. If this doesn't make you want to watch it, let me also mention there is a talking cat!

The Craft

This movie isn't as uplifting as others, but still has a good plot. A girl named Sarah moves to a new city and begins going to a Catholic Prep School. She gets attention from a group of girls who practice witch craft. One of the girls notices something about Sarah and thinks that she has powers. They befriend her and they begin to practice the craft together. They feel that if they are together, they are unstoppable and their dreams will definitely come true now. But will the power be too much, and will someone want to be leader at the end? Jealousy and greed might get the best of them.

Casper

Universal Pictures

This is a kid-friendly, wholesome movie. Casper, the friendly ghost, is a slave to his three uncle ghosts. All he wants is for someone to bond with. That isn't an easy thing to do, when you live in a haunted mansion and of course you are a ghost. Then, an afterlife therapist and his daughter move into the haunted mansion. Casper and Kat are spooked by each other at first, but eventually grow close. How could it possibly work out? Maybe Casper will get his happily ever after, or just a glimpse of it.

The Addams family

I can't even type the title and not hum the theme song. The Addams Family is about an eccentric family who live in a massive mansion. Then all of a sudden, two con artists come up with a plan to get them out of the house for good. They hire an accomplice to pretend to be a relative of the Addams. Everyone learns a lesson on what family means and what it means to care for one another, no matter the cost.

The Haunted Mansion

Eddie Murphy stars in this Disney movie, playing a realtor, Jim Evers. His family decides to take a weekend vacation from work. They decide to make a stop at a mansion on the way. They only planned on staying for a few minutes, when it began to storm. The residents of the house didn't seem like your average kind of people. The Evers begin to feel like they needed to get out as soon as possible. The only problem is that they are trapped inside. Jim Evers learns what really matters in his life, and decides to take this eerie experience as a life lesson.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.

One Book Made Me Question Existence In Its Entirety

"The Stranger" by Albert Campus touches upon many heavy elements... but not in the way you expect. Although it touches upon the aspects of death and love, it also deals with a hidden philosophy similar to that of nihilism.

The story follows the short life events of Meursault, a Frenchman whose carelessness for his actions eventually ends him in jail and dependent on a jury of people to judge the ethicality of his decision and the punishment that he deserves. He eventually gets the death penalty and all throughout he is nonchalant and almost apathetic towards his situation. He finally snaps when the prison sends a priest to him to absolve him of his sins and to cajole him in confessing to the lord.
