This past Valentine's Day my best friends, Claire and Sam, got engaged. They shared their special day with my sister and I, and we helped Sam plan his proposal by getting the flowers and becoming their paparazzi during the event. After she said yes, we were on a wedding high, left wanting to plan everything from the bridal shower to the wedding reception. My sister, Claire, and I made a Pinterest board for her wedding, outlining color choices, bridesmaids dresses, foods, decorations, etc. In addition to planning, we decided the best way to get in the wedding mood was to watch the best wedding movies. So here they are.
"Bride Wars"
Do you have a friend who is getting married on the same day as you? The characters that Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson play were once best friends, but then a mishap happens, and they have to share their special day at the same venue and date. This mistake turns them against each other, and they battle to get the other to change their wedding date. It's funny, and Chris Pratt is in it, so it's definitely a winner.
"The Wedding Planner"
Need a wedding planner? Make sure you choose one that is already married! Who doesn't love the match of J. Lo and Matthew McConaughey? A wedding planner falling in love with the groom—now that's an interesting move.
"27 Dresses"
Do you have that friend who has been in so many weddings, she can't even remember all of them? 27 weddings. Yes, I repeat: 27. Katherine Heigel's character has been the maid of honor for 27 weddings. She finally finds the one, but of course, complications arise.
"Runaway Bride"
Have a friend who runs away from love? Finally, the lucky guy believes he has caught the heart of Julia Robert's character. But there have been three guys before him who believed this, too. This movie will "catch" your attention from start to finish.
"Monster-in-Law"
Scared of your mother-in-law? Well, this movie is right for you! Monster-in-Law tells the story of a mother-in-law who stands in between a couple. She's kind of a nightmare for J.Lo and her fiancé, Michael Vartan.
Well, ladies—brides-to-be, bridesmaids, maid-of-honors, friends of the bride, etc.—you will love each and every one of these movies to get you in the wedding spirit!
