Lately, I have been on a movie binge. Where all I do is watch movies, I have watched at least twenty. One particular reason I love watching movies is that each movie tells a different story and teaches you different lessons. I compiled a small list of movies that I not only cried to because they were so good but also think that other people need to watch them because they hold very important lessons.

1. Pride and Prejudice

I loved this movie for many reasons. Not only does it face problems like equality but also follows a youngish woman in England in the late 1700s that doesn't quite know what to do with her life. This shows the audience that it is totally okay to not know what you want to do. Pride and Prejudice also has a romantic flair that always keeps you on your toes. There is so much more that happens in the movie but in order to find out, you'll have to watch it for yourself.

2. A Walk to Remember

A Walk To Remember is definitely a tearjerker. You watch as two very unlikely people come together to try and make life worth living for the time being. I can't say too much more without ruining the movie, but if you decide to watch this movie make sure you have tissues nearby.

3. The Help

The Help takes place in the 1960s in Mississippi where three black women tell their personal stories to help their community. As I watched this I became so saddened by what they had to go through. I think that this movie needs to be seen by every single person.

4. All the Bright Places

This movie is a rollercoaster of emotions. All The Bright Places is about two people who are coping with their mental and physical struggles. They use each other to try and get through it. You get to see the vulnerability that each of us has.

5. The F**k It List

When I was watching The F**k It List I just kept thinking maybe I should make a list of my own. As you can tell from the title of this film, this movie is about a boy who accidentally gets in trouble and just decides to make a list of things he wanted to do. I think that was one of the main points of the movie, why just have a list and not cross anything off?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
