As someone who loves watching movies, I have list of favorites that get me into that summer feel. You know the one where the sun is just setting around 7 PM, you just got in from swimming, you're all toasty from the sun, and your mom is cooking in the kitchen? Yup, that feel. These films are on the top of my summer watch list.

1. Georgia Rule

Georgia Rule is a film starring Lindsay Lohan who plays a troubled teen who is sent to live with her grandmother in a small town in Idaho. She is holding a secret that is haunting her and causing turmoil between her and her mom (Felicity Huffman). Released in 2007, this comedic drama is one that will stand the test of time for me. It also stars Jane Fonda, who I love as an actress!

2. (500) Days of Summer

This film, released in 2009 and starring Zooey Deschanel and the handsome Joseph-Gordon Levitt, has the perfect title for the movies we are talking about, am I right? This Rom-Com is an awesome, offbeat, kind of indie film about a girl who doesn't believe in love and the guy that falls for her. This one will pull at your heart strings, but also offers an interesting perspective if you're willing to read between the lines.

3. Everything Everything

Everything Everything is an awesome film about a girl with an illness that keeps her trapped within the walls of her house, until a new boy moves in next door. I love Amandla Stenberg, who plays Maddy, in the this romantic drama. Not to mention, the music in this movie is amazing; it was like they pulled a few from my Spotify. ;)

4. 50 First Dates

This classic Romantic Comedy, released in 2004, is a classic Adam Sandler movie. He plays Henry Roth, who is afraid of commitment until he meets Lucy (Drew Barrymore) who he soon finds out has short-term memory loss. This film is sure to make you laugh and smile. Plus, everyone HAS to see this movie at least once in their lives!

5. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

This is my favorite POC movie! Although they're all good, this one is always on my watch list. You can even find it on Netflix, along with the newest one: Dead Men Tell No Tales. This one adds some action to your lazy summer afternoon.

As you can see I am a huge romantic movie fan. I didn't really realize this about myself until writing this "listicle", LOL. Snuggle up on the couch after a nice swim, and enjoy these films that let you revel in the sweetness that is summer.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
