IT'S RUSH WEEK. Your throat hurts like no other, your feet hurt from days of sandals, wedges, and heels, you're tired of sweating like a pig inside and outside of houses, so summed up you feel like death. Whether you are a potential new member, PNM for short, or a recruiter here are some motivational quotes to get you through what you will look back on as the best week ever.

1. CONFIDENCE IS KEY

Confidence is the key to a successful rush week on both sides. Rushies if you have confidence, believe me the recruiters take notice. They want girls who are confident in themselves and what they believe in. Recruiters same goes for you! Have confidence in yourself, in your chapter and your ability as a recruiter.

2. EMPOWER ONE ANOTHER

Recruitment is a time I wholeheartedly believe we should be empowering fellow women. Recruitment can quickly turn to one big contest when really we should be focusing on who is going to be the best member of our chapter or for rushies where am I going to fit in best and make a difference. I encourage all women during rush to empower one another rather than tearing each other down.

3. FEEL BEAUTIFUL

Key word being FEEL here. I sincerely hope you feel beautiful today. Yes feel beautiful. Beauty is so much more than how you look on the outside, it is also how you carry yourself, the vibe you give off and the way you make people feel. During rush focus on these qualities of beauty and I guarantee you always feel beautiful no matter how you look on the outside.

4. JUST BE YOU

Don't act like someone you aren't during recruitment because you'll have to keep up that facade the rest of your four years. If you, young rushie, are yourself during recruitment then I guarantee you will find a chapter you fit into. As for my recruiters, be yourself so that you can find new sisters, and littles similar to you with the same goals for your chapter.

5. SHAKE IT OFF

This is hands down my new favorite life mantra. It essentially speaks for itself, why should you be moody or upset about something that happened during rush when you can just shake it off with an impromptu dance party. It's not going to make everything better but it sure will put a smile back on your face and a pep back in your step.

Potential new members, good luck this week! Take it all in. Rush is crazy, but by the end of the week it is all worth it when you open your bid card.

Recruiters! You've put in the hard work, just stay focused on the end goal... BID DAY! Recruit the best new member class ever and have fun. Recruitment is like a 24/7 mandatory sisterhood event haha.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
