Everyone faces days where it seems as though nothing will get done, or where there’s an overwhelming amount of negativity and it can be difficult to think positively or become inspired.
Here are some of my favorite quotes that I’ve been told in my most difficult times that gave me the inspiration to move forward!
“This, too, shall pass.”
-Anonymous
My mother tells me this quote whenever I struggle with anything, and it never fails to make me think more positively. Sometimes in the most chaotic moments, the best condolence is the realization that it’s only a moment. Whatever the situation may be, it will run its course.
“No bird soars too high if he soars with his own wings.”
-William Blake
My neighbor offered me this quote the day of my graduation, and it’s stuck with me ever since. It reminds me that a person’s own self is their only limitation. The support, motivation and love a person shows for their own self cannot be matched by any other person’s.
“Don’t think, just do.”
-Horace
In challenging times, spending time thinking about the issue at hand is important. However, over thinking and not taking action can only make things worse. Trusting oneself with both knowing what’s right, and having the ability to make a change is important. This quote always urges me to think about what’s right, but then do everything I can to be heard or make a change.
"Don’t let yesterday take up too much of today."
-Will Rogers
Time is one of the most important things a person can control. Allowing problems that occur to affect one’s future can disallow a person to move on and improve. This quote always reminds me to not worry too much about what happens in the past, and focus on doing my best in the present moment.
"It’s not over until you say it’s over."
-Ciara Brown
My best friend told me this while I was auditioning for various schools. I was terrified of not getting accepted into anything. This quote always reminds me that I control the extent to which I do what I love, and that I don’t have to stop working for it unless I tell myself to.
