With midterms and projects and student orgs, it can all seem like the world is crashing down sometimes. But at the end of the day, a bad test grade or a fight with a friend or having a million deadlines all at once does not mean that the world is ending. Here are some little words of encouragement for those weeks that seem a little too big to handle.
1. Grades do not define you.
Honestly, such a classic but needs to be said every once in a while. A grade is a measurement of what you've learned and has no weight on your intelligence or who you are as a person.
2. Hard work is important, but balance is also needed.
When you are going, going, going it can be hard to stop and take a breather... but that rest is needed! Amidst the craziness, don't forget to take some time for yourself to do things that you like to do!
3. Patience is key.
Sometimes when everything seems to be falling apart, it can feel like there is no end in sight and that it will never change. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and you just need to be patient.
4. Be confident in who you are and what you are doing.
There are a million people to compare yourself to, but there is only one YOU! Embrace that and see that just because you do some things differently doesn't make you any less! It matters what you are doing and that you are doing your best.
5. Everything is going to be okay.
My family says this one all the time. It's simple but always so true.
So take a deep breath. You've lived until now. You've climbed mountains in the past. And you can do it again. You've got this.
