Gilmore Girls has become a Netflix sensation, especially after the newest four releases of 'A Year in the Life'. Our generation has surely fallen in love with the town of Stars Hollow and enjoyed watching the characters grow over all of the past seasons and the newest revival releases. But after having religiously watched the series and being personally invested in each of the characters there's a few life lessons we can take away...

1. Family is Family.

The series began with Lorelai and Rory not having the greatest of relationships with Richard and Emily Gilmore, the bond of family was unquestionable by the end. I think over the seasons it became pretty clear that no matter what happens in life family can and will always be that constant factor, there when you need it.

2. Chase Your Dreams.

From the very beginning of the series it was clear what path Rory wanted to be in life, a successful journalist and she pursued that ambition at Yale. Rory from day one had always been serious about her education and grades and pushed herself to be the best of the best. If there's one thing we should take from Rory it's that we should never stop working for what we want until we reach our goals.

3. Home is Always Home.

The main characters live in the little Connecticut town of Stars Hollow. Rory goes off to college at Yale but always returns home to see her mom. After she graduates, the series ends with her leaving to join Obama's campaign. We the viewers assume that she took that time to travel all around the country and possibly the world too because that was always one of her dreams. But when the Gilmore Girls revival came out a few months ago, Rory was right back home in the little town that built her. So from Rory's experiences we can learn that no matter where life takes us, there's really no place like home.

4. Things Won't Always Work Out.

Whether it's careers or boys, Rory also shows us that things won't always work out. We find out in the revival episodes that not all of Rory's plans had worked out; she's single and back working for the Stars Hollow Gazette. But even though even the revival doesn't have such a happy ending for our beloved Rory, she does teach us that when things don't go our way, we should make the best out of every situation.

5. Coffee is Everything.

I think everyone can agree that maybe the biggest lesson we learn from Lorelai and Rory is how vital coffee is to our daily lives. You'll never see an episode where they are't fueling their coffee addiction.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
