It seems like everyone has started to binge watch the beloved "Shameless", but if you take a step back and think about the actual meaning behind some of the episodes, it's actually a pretty serious show.
1. A little love goes a long way.
Watching the relationship between Ian and Mickey was quite possibly the most frustrating thing in the beginning, but the more love and affection that Ian showed towards Mickey, the more he opened up about how he identified.
2. Just because you come from nothing, doesn't mean you have to be nothing.
Lip's the second oldest of the Gallagher's and he proves that at least one of them is going to become something when he goes back to high school to get his diploma then proceeds to get accepted into MIT. He might've come from a shit hole, but he knows he's going to be more than what is expected of a Southsider.
3. Sometimes your friends are better family than your actual family.
Not only are Kev and V relationship goals, but they're some amazing friends too. They are always there for the Gallaghers even if it puts them out.
4. Lying is obviously pretty bad.
Jimmy (or Steve or whoever he is) is an awful liar and almost loses Fiona because of it. There's too much that he's lied about to even know what's actually the truth sometimes, but at least he tries to make up for it by helping Fiona out with the kids.
5. My favorite lesson from Lip.
I feel like this a lesson that everyone could agree with on most days. Most people just don't have the balls that Lip has to actually say it to others.
