There is a great disturbance in the Force...
Carrie Fisher, who is well known for her role as Princess Leia in the Star Wars series, passed away Tuesday following a heart attack. The actress, 60, became an icon for women around the world when Star Wars Episode IV released in 1978. Fisher from then on became Princess Leia in our hearts.
To pay respects to the talent of Fisher, here are five lessons her and her on-screen character taught us all.
5. Sometimes we just have to speak our mind.
Princess Leia always made sure anyone who was making her life hell knew it. Take note.
4. Everyone needs a Gary.
Gary instantly became an icon when Fisher brought her French Bulldog to back to back interviews as Star Wars The Force Awakens approached. You can follow him on Twitter at @gary_thedog.
3. Being an icon isn't always the greatest.
Can you blame her? For 48 years she has been known as the princess from Alderaan. I would have liked a break too.
2. Death Star out, guns out.
If Princess Leia taught us one thing, that is women are just as able to kick some Sith Lord ass.
1. The Force flows through us all.
Princess Leia never used a Jedi lightsaber, but the Force still thrived in her. The Force flows through as all, impacting us all in a different way.
Carre Fisher, you will be missed.
