Kentucky has always been known for it's Bluegrass style of music. Kentucky has also provided the world with many well-known music acts like: Loretta Lynn, Bill Monroe, The Judds, Billy Ray Cyrus, Nappy Roots, Kentucky Headhunters, Cage the Elephant, and many more. But here are a few artist from Kentucky that you for sure need to give a listen to.

1. Sundy Best

This country duo is from Prestonburg, Kentucky. Nick Jamerson and Kris Bentley have been friends alway the way back to elementary school and remained friends through their love of music. The song they are most well known for is "Home" but they also have many other great songs as well. What makes this dynamic duo stand out is the fact that Kris doesn't play a typical dreamiest, he instead plays a cajun drum. This drum gives the band a bluegrass and rock blend of music.

2. James Lindsey (formally known as JaLin Roze)

This Louisville rapper has been spreading like wildfire across the state of Kentucky. He has recently reinvented himself my going by his real name instead of JaLin Roze. This creative rapper is one to stand out in a predominately country music/bluegrass state. With that being said, he is an extremely talented artist who should for be given a listen to.

3. Buffalo Rodeo

This rock band hails from Bowling Green, Kentucky. This group of friends have been dominating the stage since high school. Zach, Jordan, Nate, Ryan, and Patrick are the key members of this band. This rock band has a style of their own and do it on their own. They have recently wrapped up their tour across the country but don't let that stop you from listening to their music.

4. Johnnie Mike

This rising country star is from Bowling Green, Kentucky. Johnnie is actually the youngest on the list at only 18 years old!!! He has a country style with a pop twist and has recently been working with some of Nashville's top songwriters. He has also been the opening act for The Charlie Daniel's band and also recently Josh Turner. This young artist has a bright young future ahead of him so be sure to remember the name.

5. Triple Run

Technically this isn't a Kentucky but the lead singer did grow up in Kentucky. At only 17, lead singer Brittany Taylor moved from Eastern Kentucky to Nashville, Tennessee. This songwriter and her band have been touring across the country and were recently the opening act for Sundy Best at a concert at the Mountain Arts Center. Overall Brittany, Eric, and Matt have a bright future ahead of them with the road they are on now.

Make sure to keep an eye out for these Kentucky natives and look up their music!

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
