5 Issues I Have With Dragon Tales

Does anyone have any idea why their parents never checked in on them?

As I was watching Netflix with my brother one night, I came across a show that I used to love when I was a kid: Dragon Tales. It used to be one of my favorite shows and I remember watching it constantly. My brother did not want to watch it, of course. You can imagine my surprise when I came home for fall break and saw my brother laughing and singing along with Max and Emmy. I was so excited that he finally followed in my footsteps and loved the show as much as I did. For my entire fall break, we watched Dragon Tales endlessly. While watching this show a few issues that I never noticed before arose.

1. Did Max and Emmy's parents not question why there were dragons on their children's wall when they moved in?

Maybe this does not bother you, but I would at least have some questions. Dragons are not a common interest between girls and I do not remember it being a common interest for boys either.

2. Does Max's and Emmy's parents not wonder where they go all the time? Do they not wonder why they spend so much time in their room, quietly I might add.

I do not know if you guys have ever been around young children, but they are never to be trusted alone for long periods of time. If a child is silent for more than a couple of minutes, they are more than likely up to no good. You would think their parents checked in on them more often.

3. Why do Max and Emmy leave Dragon Land at odd times?

I mean one moment they are bonding with the dragons and the next? "I wish to use this rhyme to go back home until next time." They just disappear without a proper goodbye. I find that a little rude especially since Ord shares his Dragon Berry Muffins with Max and Cassie always tows Emmy around.

4. Max is 4 years old.

He is a pretty intelligent four year old. His speech is fantastic and he goes to Dragon Land all by himself without Emmy. That's impressive, but terrifying.

5. Max and Emmy hardly ever change clothes, if they even change at all.

As a child, this would not bother me too much. As a young adult, however, why could they not have changed clothes? I mean really, everyday they wear the same outfit. That is a little too predictable.

Even though there are a few issues that bug me about Dragon Tales, it is still a great show altogether. Max and Emmy had the best childhood any kid could hope for and with their intelligence I am more than confident that they would have grown up to be prosperous adults.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
