5 Important Health Tips To Live By

It's no breaking news that everyone wants to be healthy. It's something we all strive for because we want to make the best out of ourselves. Since it is summertime, this means that you have a lot of free time—don't lie to me, I know you have a lot of free time. I'm here to drill into your brain that this free time should be wisely spent on educating yourself on becoming more fit and healthy. Here are just some few tips on how to become a healthier you this summer because you deserve it:

1. Drink warm water in the morning.

It is proven that drinking warm water in the morning boosts up your metabolism and therefore helps you with weight loss. It is also known to be as a form of body detoxification, this can be done by squeezing or adding a piece of lemon to the water. It gets better, the intake of warm water enhances your blood circulation and promotes a super healthy nervous system! The benefits of implementing a daily dose of warm water to your morning routine are endless.

2. Broccoli on broccoli on broccoli.

Oh yes, you bet your little butt I'm referring to those little green tree lookin' things that you most likely hate. By adding more broccoli into your diet, it helps cleanses your liver and helps fight cancer. Now, this does not mean you should start eating broccoli for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day everyday for the rest of your life until you perish into smithereens. Too much of a good thing can be bad.

3. Be creative with your workouts.

Don't stick to the same workouts for too long because your body will start to grow comfortable and get used to it. Then what? No results, obviously. You must vary your workouts. Be creative and come up with different ones each time you do a workout. For example: when it comes to focusing on your abs, do the Spiderman Plank Crunch. Then for the next time try the Russian Twist with a medicine ball. If you feel as if this will be too much to handle, then switch up your workouts every two weeks. Just remember to follow the schedule.

4. It's all about portion control.

Yes, I said it. You've heard this one a lot but I can not stress on how truly important this is, especially if you notice your body losing its metabolism. To be brutally honest with you all, I do not portion my meals. My body has a fast metabolism where everything I eat just straight up disappears—I don't know where the food goes. Please don't hate me. Regardless, I still wanted to list this as an important health tip because people often neglect this idea. If you do not portion your meals, then your workouts that you've worked so hard on all goes to waste. It's all a complete waste.

5. Download a health & fitness app.

We're all pretty much on our phones anyway. Go to the app store right now and download an effective Health & Fitness app. Whether that app helps you keep track of the food you eat on a daily basis, offers various workout ideas, or it may remind you to consume the necessary amount of water intake. It doesn't matter what purpose the app serves as long as it supports the change of a newer, healthier you.

May you all live a long and healthy life, my readers. Everyone deserves to have some control of their life.

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?
