5 HR Strategies That Will Improve Health And Safety

Encouraged and disciplined teamwork, mature work- balance, increased productivity, and coordinated productivity is all that any organization strives for. But what methodologies and programmes truly ignites and maintains this well-synchronized work life is something, Human Resources is burdened with. The foundation for any constructive and dynamic workplace is employee wellness where both their interests and health are secured. Below mentioned are few HR strategies that will efficiently promote employee safety and health:

Reduce Employee Stress:

Not physical injuries but emotional injuries are a serious threat to the majority of employees in any organization of any country. What chops that confidence you hired is the untimely work and performance pressure. Many employees have filed stress-related issues, that force HRs to investigate and find the origin of the overwhelming anxiety that becomes consistent day by day. The best way to reduce this unnatural and agonizing stress is to conduct sporadic one on one sessions, where you can confidently zero on the circumstances in which employees feel wrongly questioned or stressed. This exercise, if practised once a month will eventually reduce employee stress and promote an emotionally balanced workplace.

Maintain a safe workplace environment:

This is directly related to facilities operations, where HR teams are required to coordinate with their managers and outline any possible threats in the company. Since unfortunate incidents can happen anytime, it is important to stay aware and educate your employees on all possible risk scenarios. Facilities manager can procure workplace safety equipment that can be in accordance with the HR policies. Also, SMSTS training can be planned and packed into weekly activities calendar so as comprehensive safety regulations can be learnt/implemented, and possible risks can be analyzed.

Open a line of communication:

When employees burn out, either physically or emotionally, work productivity and natural team balance starts to disorient which only comes into notice when there is an issue raised or a resignation surfaces. Since stress based work life generally has a bad outcome at the end, that often disbalances the whole employee and work cycle, the repercussions are to be born by both the company and HR. Circumstantial stress can always be managed if there is open communication with HR as it motivates the employees. It is important to know the disconnect that is existing between the existing understandings of the employee and his team/work pressure/manager. It is advised to adopt an open door policy as it allows the employees to make a healthy connection with the company through the HR and clear their doubts.

Conducting Sessions for encouraging Mental Health:

Corporate life is largely dynamic in its environment, rules and regulations. There are changes every minute that often triggers mental pressure until there is a consequent adaptation which often is late. Everyone is struggling to ease into corporate dynamics. Inspiration is one passive process that often gets missing, and every employee during the daunting work pressure seeks motivational talks and ways to stay mellow during the working hours. To make the every going transition easier, it is important for HR to make sure that every employee is getting the attention they need. Workshops like Andinspireme, can be conducted weekly, monthly or quarterly that will uplift the spirits of many employees.

Promoting Peer to Peer Support:

It is surveyed and concluded that nearly all team-building exercises conducted in corporate offices are often percieved as boring. Instead of promoting team-building exercises, new activities like weight loss challenges, team diet plans, team Zumba classes or any other health movements can be adopted. These required and relevant health challenges will create a line of support for employees who are struggling with keeping up with their mental health. Distracting them with health plans that they can adopt while they are working will encourage, excite as well as distract them from their ongoing mental aches. Consequently, this will promote a collective and collaborative team environment while maintaining physical health.

Final Words:

The 9 to 5 workstyle at times reaches a saturation/stagnancy for nearly every individual where everything tends to get questioned at some point or another. The monotony of earning and being responsible at the office and home both makes every individual feel trapped and neglected. It is important for every HR to plan a strategic movement/schemes/activities that motivate and triggers the forgotten ambitions, goals, and most of all remind every employee to maintain an appropriate mental and physical balance. As an HR it is important for you to avoid any employee feeling close-knit and suffocated in his/her work life. Talk to them, keep them engaged and make them feel important as the whole organizational productivity depends upon every single employee be it associate/executive/team leader/manager.
