Coming home from college to the summer is a wonderful thing. Yay to being free from school, stress and shower flip flops! However, it is also a time of transition and adjustment. You go from having freedom, independence and friends living within a couple feet of you to living back home with your parents, and actually having to travel distances to see your friends...the struggle.
Here are 5 things that happen when a college student comes home for the summer.
1. You're somehow tired...like all the time.
You get home, and you’re so overwhelmed from finals week and classes that you actually need to sleep for a few days before doing anything remotely productive.
2. Everyone in your neighborhood, town or community wants to know what you're doing for the summer.
No, I didn't get that internship. No, I don't know what I'm doing with my life. Lovely catching up with you, neighbor!
3. You watch a lot of Netflix.
I wasn't home for a few months, so naturally it's time to watch 13 episodes of "Gilmore Girls" per day and avoid responsibilities.
4. You work all the time.
Being a broke college student is tough.
5. You miss college.
After a few weeks, the homesickness for school starts to sink in. How many days until fall move-in?
