Fall is in full swing. We all know what that means... Yes, pumpkin spiced everything! But also, it's time to change up that hair care routine. When the Fall season arrives, it brings with it several factors that can really affect your hair. It's important to know how to take care of your locks to ensure they remain luscious all season long! Here are 5 ways you can ensure your hair's health:

1. Double Up on the Moisture

Moisture is key when there is a chill in the air. We often think about how much we have to take care of our skin in the Fall and Winter, but we forget that the same rule applies to our hair. Cooler weather can zap all of the moisture out of your hair. I recommend using an intense moisturizer and developing a deep conditioning regimen that you can do every other weekend. Doing this will ensure that your hair remains moisture and gorgeous no matter what the temperature is outside.

2. Use a Clarifying Shampoo

If you don't have colored hair, trying a clarifying shampoo is the perfect way to rid your hair of damage from the summer season. During the summer months, our hair can build up a lot of different products on the scalp such as sunscreen or salt sprays. A great clarifying shampoo can help strip these unhealthy buildups from your hair and help you enjoy the Fall season with a fresh head of hair.

3. Add Some Volume

Another thing that cold weather hinders is the natural volume of your hair. That's why I recommend using a volume product that will help your hair remain voluminous. Use products that will lift your roots and add thickness to your strands. These products will help ensure that your hair remains lively.

4. Go All Natural

Go all natural by switching your hair products to products that are made with all natural ingredients. Not only is this good for the planet and animals, it is also great for your hair. A lot of hair care products contain nasty chemicals which can further damage your hair by stripping it of all the healthy oils. When the weather gets cold, your hair is already going through enough without trying to fight against chemical infested products. By switching to all natural hair products you're ensuring the longevity of your hair's look and feel.

5. Go a Shade Darker

It's time to say good-bye to the bleach out summer looks! Try embracing Fall with a big color change by switching it up and going a shade darker. I recommend going for a deep burgundy or vibrant red color. Darker and richer browns, reds, and burgundies are popular during Fall because they are the perfect complement to the gorgeous colors in nature.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
