5 Hacks for Promoting Your Small Business on Social Media

All small business owners want their company to be thriving and well-known. It just so happens that the best way to do this is to promote your company on social media. Did you know almost 4 billion people use social media every single day?! That's a lot of possible new customers for you! To help make your business the best it can be, here are five hacks for promoting your company on social media.

Make Your Posts at Just the Right Time

When you make an advertisement or just a fun fact to put your business out there, you want a large audience to see it. To ensure that a lot of people will catch your post on their feed, make sure you are posting them during high traffic hours. For example, it would be much more reasonable to make a post at 8 pm when social media users are settling down after dinner and scrolling their feed than to post at 11:30 am when many are at work and busy.

Set a Schedule!

To ensure that you do not forget to post your content as well as the perfect time to post, make a schedule or even set timers for when you want to publish your content. Some apps even let you schedule your posts for a specific time so you can make sure they'll automatically be posted right when you want them to!

Utilize Hashtags

This may seem like an obvious one, but keep in mind not everyone is as social media savvy as you may be, and that is okay! That's what we are here for! Hashtags allow your post to pop up when someone searches the keyword and can even result in a trending post. Try to choose hashtags that are relevant to your topic, not too long and spelled correctly.

Post to Your Story

Most social media apps, especially Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat, have the option of creating your own story. These typically pop up at the very top of a person's social media app and are quick pictures or videos that users can easily click through. That is typically the first thing a social media user will look through and this way, they are almost guaranteed to see your post!

Create and Promote A Blog

You never know what great idea may become the next most shared thing on Facebook. Blogs are all the rage nowadays and having a blog with regular posts can help your business thrive. Make sure to create blogs relevant to your service, post them at the right time and share them on all of your business' social media pages!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
