The NFL is always fun because of how unpredictable it is. You never know who is the next break-out player or what team can fall flat off of the map after a good season the year before. Although, every year there are a few things we can count on to be basically guaranteed and today we'll look at five guarantees of this upcoming season.
1. The New England Patriots will win the AFC East.
I'm sorry Jets fans I know you always say "this years the year we knock off New England." I can already see crazy Bills fans tearing me to shreds. As a Miami fan this is painful to write but the truth hurts. New England has always dominated the AFC East ever since the Brady-Bellechik duo came to be. Some may argue New England won't win as much this year due to Bellechik. New England is easily a Super Bowl favorite and will win 10-plus games yet again.
2. Browns will finish under .500.
This isn't meant to be a cheap shot at Browns fans, it's simply a fact. The Browns, although they seem like they are headed in the right direction, are years away from being a team to be reckoned with. RGIII is not the Quarter Back of the future and has a lot to prove. This team has not finished with above a .500 record in years and they won't end that streaks this year.
3. Antonio Brown will have 1,500+ yards.
This one goes without saying, Antonio Brown is the most reliable and easily the top receiver in the game. He is constantly putting up insane numbers and this year will be no different. If Big Ben can stay healthy for this whole year I'm going to say it now, Brown will be the first receiver to catch for 2,200 yards and will catch 14 touch downs.
4. Andrew Luck will put up a monster season.
Sure, Luck has thrown a lot of turnovers since he entered the league, and didn't have a good season before he was injured last year. But this is the year he wants to come back and get back to the top. For fantasy players I would easily pick up Luck in the 5th round if still available. I can see Luck putting up MVP numbers with a 4,500 yard season with 35 touch downs and 8 interceptions.
4. Broncos will win no matter who starts at quarterback.
This Broncos defense is at an all time good. Sure, they might not be close to the 85 Bears, but they still carried a team with an old, injured Peyton Manning to a Super Bowl win. If they decide to start Sanchez, they just need him to put up mediocre numbers and will still win 12 games. They could hypothetically start Paxton Lynch and develop him as he is carried by the defense. As long as he doesn't throw too many interceptions and can take care of the ball, the Broncos basically have this division on lock.
