1. Cookies
Whether you are decorating them or eating them, cookies are one of my favorite Christmas traditions. Christmas is an appropriate time to roll out all the flavors in the cookbook and maybe taste test all the flavors too.
2. Lights
If you are anything like me, chances are you probably had Christmas decorations put up immediately after Thanksgiving. When your house is decked out in Christmas cheer, it is easier to get into the holiday spirit, and Christmas lights are the definition of holiday spirit (and a high electricity bill).
3. Community Outreach
It is the holidays and that means that it is the time of year to help others who need it most. Donate to the Santa ringing the bell. Grab an angel of the community angel tree. Step up and do your part because the joy you will give is indescribable.
4. Coming Home
I will admit that I enjoy coming home to see my family (even if they drive me crazy most the time). There is something about going home and sliding back into the comfort of Mom’s homemade meals and free laundry service. (That was a joke.)
5. Christmas Movies
I have never been much of a movie person, but Christmas time is the best time to have a movie marathon. I love to curl up on my couch with a cup of hot chocolate (or coffee) with the lights from the tree illuminating the whole room while watching some of my favorite Christmas movies. It is one of the greatest feelings in the world.
