1. No shower shoes
After months of doing awkward hops to avoid letting your feet touch the shower floor when your shower shoes come off, you can finally trust that there are no mysterious substances on the shower floor.
2. Making your own food
The cafeteria is good for most food, but sometimes you want something more unique that you would only eat at home. Even if you have the time and ingredients needed to make your food, there's something special about getting food that you would only eat at home, and eating as much as you want.
3. Getting food anytime without paying for it
Get out of bed at 12:30. Walk downstairs in your pajamas. Get breakfast. Can you do this with the cafeteria? No.
4. No Housing Rules
Want to paint your room? Make art out of thumbtacks in your walls? Have nice candles? Make noise after quiet hours? At home, there are no housing rules.
5. The bathroom is nearby
It’s incredibly frustrating to pack your bathroom bag, walk down the hallway or around the corner or upstairs to go to the bathroom and get ready for a shower, only to find that you left your soap in the room. At home, your soap stays in the bathroom, and if you need to get something, it's easy enough to get a towel and go back to your room in 30 seconds or less.
