Even though it feels like the middle of January, spring has arrived. (Although, thinking back, I'm pretty sure it was warmer in January). Anyways, SPRING! The leaves are turning green, flowers are blooming, and blue skies...will all happen when the weather warms up! And when it does, or even before it does, why not go on a hike? Go connect with nature and all that good stuff! Well, here are 5 beautiful hikes in NC that you should definitely take!
1. Black Balsam Knob
This is an easier hike along the North Carolina section of the Appalachian Trail! The cool thing about hiking along the Appalachian Trail in the Spring in NC or even TN or VA is the thru-hikers that are passing through. Every year in March, people begin their north bound trek from Springer Mountain in Georgia and walk 2,200 miles to Mount Katahdin Maine.
3. Chimney Rock
Chimney Rock State Park is in Rutherford County and has quite a few food trails that range from easy to strenuous. Climb the 1.096 foot mountain for a beautiful view!
4. Huckkleberry Knob
Huckleberry Knob is a favorite among hikers here in the great state of North Carolina. This bald mountain is near Robbinsonville, NC right off of the Cherohala Skyway in the Nantahala Forest.
5. Looking Glass Falls
Located right outside of Brevard, NC Looking Glass Falls is one of the more popular sights for hikers to roam. While some may say that this is more of a walk than a hike, it is one of the more stunning in North Carolina.
