The decade of the 90s is known for its music, fashion, and television. Those of us that grew up on 90s cartoons look at kids' TV today with confusion. Whether you are under 10 or in your 20's. these are some of the best 90s cartoons.
1. "Rugrats" (1991-2004)
Rugrats follows toddlers Tommy Pickles, Phil and Lil Deville, and Chuckie Finster on their many adventures. Other characters include baby brother Dil Pickles, cousin Angelica Pickles, and friend Susie Carmichael. With Tommy as the leader storing a plastic screwdriver in his diaper, the babies break out of their play pen to explore the world from their points of view.
2. "Pinky and the Brain" (1995-1998)
Two lab mice with spliced genes from Acme Labs make elaborate plans to take over the world during their nights in the lab. The catchy theme song labels one as a genius and the other insane. Pinky is known for his quotable expressions like "Narf" and the question, "What are we going to do tonight, Brain?" Although these world domination plans are never successful, this duo tries and tries again.
3."Dexter's Laboratory"
Small, easily annoyed child genius Dexter creates inventions in his laboratory. Dexter takes his inventing very seriously and could not imagine what life would be like without it. While keeping the lab a secret from friends and family, Dexter works hard to be better than elementary school nemesis Mandark. His nosy older sister Dee Dee also proves as a challenge to the serious child. "What does that button do?" is usually followed by something breaking and Dexter demanding his sister stays out of his laboratory.
4. "Hey Arnold"
Fourth grader Arnold lives with his grandparents in a boarding house with others from diverse backgrounds in a Brooklyn-style neighborhood. The show follows the everyday life of the "football" headed boy. As well as the events that occur with best friend Gerald and other neighborhood friends, character Helga Pitake acts as the mean girl toward Arnold despite her huge crush on the boy.
5. "Powerpuff Girls"
Sugar, spice, everything nice, and some chemical X make up three girls named Blossom (pink), Bubbles (blue), and Buttercup (green). In a lab accident, Professor Utonium created these superhuman kindergarten children. Each girl has a distinct personality with Blossom as the leader, Bubbles as cutesy one, and then Buttercup. The trio use their powers to act as the heroes in the city of Townsville. They protect the city from the multiple villains, fight crime, and try to save the world.
