5 Goals For 2017 Everyone Should Have

New Year's resolutions are overrated, here are 5 goals you can actually keep this year.

1) Spend less money, save more money

Goal: Save money for something big and worth it. For example, vacations, concerts, movie nights, road trips, eating out with friends, and other fun activities. If you spend money on little things, such as buying a cup of coffee every morning, you'll realize it adds up and you can't afford the big things you want.

2) Travel more

Goal: see more of the world! "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page." Saint Augustine said it best. We have one life to live so make the most of it. Go see the world, experience new cultures, try new food, learn a new language! Our world is so big, why stay in one place?

3) Be healthy

Goal: to live a healthier life. You shouldn't starve yourself or restrict your eating. Instead strive to make your body healthy and strong. Workout to enhance you endurance, make your muscles stronger, and help yourself be more balanced and flexible. Eat healthy foods that are good for your body. But don't forget to let yourself indulge in the good things once in while, that's why they're called treats!

4) Spend more time with people that matter

Goal: strengthen relationships with the important people in your life. Friends that stress you out, make you unhappy, or make you feel bad about yourself are people you don't need in your life. At the end of the day, its not what you are doing but who you are with. So take the time to let them know how important they are to you and work on keeping that positivity in your life.

5) Be happy

Goal: to be happy. Sometimes, we tend to focus on all the negatives in our lives. The things we don't have or the things that go wrong. Instead, focus on what you love about your life. There are a million reasons to be happy! Do what you love. We have one life to live, so enjoy everyday and live life to the fullest!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
