I just moved into my new dorm for my sophomore year of college. In my head that is still very hard to believe because mentally I am still a sophomore in high school. With that being said, move-in day is an event. Not just " Oh I move in not a big deal" type situation. You move everything that you need to basically live into a completely new space with the family right there helping. Here are 5 gifs to describe this wonderful, hectic, and messy event.

1. The Crowds

The crowds can be overwhelming, to say the least with everybody and their family there. People and their entire room from home are everywhere.

2. The Physical Work

Jean says it all. Moving in is exciting but you don't feel it until everything that was in your car is into the room and completely unpacked.

3. Saying Good Bye To Your Parents

"Gosh, guys not in front of my friends". Yes, you'll see your friends but these adults are the people who raised you and now are trusting you not to burn the dorm down without their supervision. Let them kiss you!

4. Unpacking

Trying to fit all of your things into a tiny space is like Tetris.

5. Finally Done Moving In

It'll probably be around midnight depending on if there are things you need to do the first day on campus. Even if you get done at 3 p.m. you'll still want to sleep right after.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…

Great Value Colleges

If you go to or went to Kent State, then more than likely you have done or will do some of these things.

1. You’ve slipped and fallen on the ice at least once.
