The Sopranos is generally a show of my parents' generation. I was seven years old when it aired and did not watch it until I was in college. It is also considered the greatest television show of all time, and it is. Honestly, five gifs are not enough and you should just listen to me and watch it because you won't regret it, but this will give you the tiniest glimpse into the greatness that is The Sopranos.
1. Dr. Jennifer Melfi
. The premise of The Sopranos, in brief, is that a mob boss, Tony Soprano has to see a psychiatrist because of his issues with his mother.
2. Janice Soprano
Tony Soprano's older sister. Janice doesn't show up until the second season when she comes back to New Jersey with her name changed to "Parvati." Janice is basically full of shit and out for herself, but arguably one of the most entertaining characters on the show. Aida Turturro is also severely underrated.
3. Uncle Corrado "Junior" Soprano

Tony Soprano's uncle. His glasses alone should intrigue you as well as the mob-esque use of expletives
4. Carmela Soprano
Tony's wife. The scorned mob-wife who lives comfortably off her husbands earnings can simultaneously criticize her husband for his faults and wield her position for her own agenda. Plus, the irony of Carmela's tacky outfits and Edie Falco's voice as Carmela are just other priceless elements of The Sopranos.
5. Christopher Moltisanti
Tony's nephew. Even when you're getting ready to chop a guy's head off there is a momentary, situational comedy can occur such as finding out your friend you just killed was actually balled.
The Sopranos is the greatest show of all time for far more reasons than appear here. There are so many more characters, relationships, elements, and plot lines to this monument. It's script, acting, directing, editing, presentation of human nature, complexity, and simplicity are what make it great. Also, it presents it tosses aside the stereotypical presentation of the mob after chewing it up, spitting it out, and poking fun at it, which might be part of the reason why it's believable.
