So it's Valentine's Day. The holiday of "love". As a child, I adored the holiday, simply because I loved hearts and the color pink. I loved buying and making valentines, handing them out to everyone in my class, and eating all the candy I was given. Now though, as a (semi) adult, I don't necessarily get the point. True, it's a special day set aside for you to celebrate your loved ones, and that is great. But honestly, in my opinion, you should celebrate the people you love every single day, because they are worth more than just one day.
However, I suppose Valentine's Day is still very cute, especially for couples (nope, not jealous at all that I'm hopelessly single). And honestly guys, you can't go wrong with getting your girl the typical gifts of jewelry, flowers, chocolates, and teddy bears. While I guarantee she'll love those gifts (what female doesn't like diamonds and chocolate?), they can easily become a bit cliché. So to help you out a bit to avoid this, I put together a handy dandy list. So without further adieu, here's five things girls would rather have than flowers...
1. Food
Forget the heart shaped box of candy. Chick-fil-a has a heart shaped box of... wait for it... chicken nugs. AKA Heaven.
2. Food
Pizza Hut also has a special deal, offering heart shaped pizza. Only $13.99 for a one topping pizza, AND it comes with a cookie. Double yes.
3. Food
So this one isn't a restaurant deal, but is something you can create very simply. Just get her favorite treat and a few sticks and you can make a bouquet of anything.
4. Food
Once dinner is done, you have to have dessert! And nothing is better than a homemade cake made with love (and chocolate frosting).
5. Wine. Lots and lots of wine
Nuff said.
