Attending a small university in a small town doesn't give you many opportunities for exciting things to do. You have to make your own fun on the weekends. There are only a few things that we can do here in good old Ashland, and they include messing around in Walmart or taking a walk in Freer Field. When that gets boring and you don't want to go to Mansfield to the mall, you start looking for other options! Here are 5 games that I highly recommend to lighten up your nights at college!
1. Quiplash
This is a Jackbox game that is sure to bring many laughs! It's an internet game. Two people answer a question and the rest of the group picks their favorite. Here is an example!
2. Cards Against Humanity
If you are a college kid and haven't played this game yet, you're obviously 'college-ing' wrong! If you are part of that group that hasn't played it, I highly recommend you get it ASAP. Here is a little sample of the pairs you can come up with! The black card is the prompt and the white card is the answer given!
3. The Game Of Nasty Things
This game is new for my group of friends. We have just discovered it this summer! Like all the rest of the previously mentioned games, it's another game that you have a prompt and people write their answer and turn it into the reader. The reader then has to try to guess who wrote what!
4. Mafia
This card game is a very entertaining guessing game. You randomly pick a card and become the character on the card. Everyone puts their heads down and the "reader" of the game tells each of you (Doctor, Civilians, Mafia, Detective) to lift their heads up. Mafia chooses a person to kill, Doctor saves a person, and Detective tries to figure out who is who. Everyone puts there heads up and then the story is told!
5. Spoons
A classic game to play with friends. Again, if you are a college kid and haven't played this game yet, you're obviously 'college-ing' wrong! Play with caution, though! This game can get pretty violent depending on your group of friends!
The next time you feel there is nothing to do, think again! All you need is a deck of cards and a good group of friends, and anything can be accomplished! Happy gaming!
