Winter break is a necessity in giving our brains a rest after hard work and finals. It is also important to use this time for fun and adventure to empty our brains before cramming them full again in the spring semester. Here are five fun this MSU students can do to make the time away from the classroom count!
1. Read a good book.
From an English major's perspective, one of the best things about break is being able to read a book that's not on a syllabus. This is also a great and enjoyable way to train your brain!
2. Take a trip to the Wichita Mountains.
On a warmer day of course, get your squad together and head up to Lawton, Oklahoma and hike and explore the Wichita Mountains. It's a very nice change of scenery for only an hour away, and while you're there eat at Meers for one of the best burgers around!
3. Netflix marathons.
Sometimes there's nothing better than laying around and watching TV shows and movies all day. This is well deserved after finishing the semester.
4. Explore downtown.
There's lots of cool stuff downtown that's often overlooked! Shops, historic sites, food, and entertainment! Lately new businesses are opening up and it's slowly becoming revamped!
5.Backyard fires.
Though burn bans may restrict how much of this can be done, there's nothing better than kicking back with some friends around a fire! It's a great way to bond and stay warm over the holidays.
Here are some ideas to add some fun to your Christmas break! Have a great time, and be sure to relax before the spring semester begins!
