5 Friends You Make Freshmen Year Of College

No matter where you attend school, you are always going to be able to find these people. They are the best and worst memories in your repertoire, but they will always have a special place in your heart.

1. The Social Media Queen

She is the girl who is constantly asking your opinion on filters for Instagram, making you bend over backward into the most obnoxious angles for the "perfect" selfie, and always demanding you reread/write her Facebook and Twitter posts.

2. The Goofy True Friend

This is the girl you meet the first couple of days. She is the one who you instantly feel comfortable with and begin to stay up till 3 a.m. to just hang out and talk with. She is the one who stays with you during your first break-up, buys you pizza and ice cream, and makes you watch movies and wear fat pants with her. She is essentially your twin, and with your instant connection you two know you are stuck with each other.

3. The Fake Friend

This is the girl who plays the best friend role so well you can hardly tell the difference until the end. She is the one who basically only wants you around to be her duff and emotional punching bag. She pays you just enough attention to make it seem like you two are really close, but when it counts she blows you off and does not think twice about it.

4. The Boho Hippie

She has been to all the music festivals, is obsessed with longboarding, and owns a hammock. She is the type of girl who you meet on the go between classes. She is laid back about everything and lets her life go with the flow. There is a genuine friendship connection to be had with this girl, just be prepared to share her with all of her Tumblr followers.

5. The Cuddle-Buddy Nerd

She is always there for you if you need a good bear hug. There is nothing she is not able to fix, especially not when there is some good R & R involved. She is the perfect study companion, as in she can be fun and silly but still knows when to focus. She is the person you can text at 2 a.m. because you know she is still awake, either on Netflix or with her nose stuck in a book.

There will be many fantastic individuals to meet throughout your college career, and these select few are just a small slice of the many friend possibilities out there. Never be afraid to go out there and meet people. You may just find your next goofy best friend. You never know.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
