1. Cold Shoulder Tops

This fashion trend completely eludes me. Why would you want to cut out the material around your shoulders? Are they so much hotter than the rest of you? Honestly, what is the point of having a tank-top strap over your shoulders then a cut out and then the continuation of a sleeve? I especially don’t understand why this trend is seen on long-sleeved clothing. If you’re going to be dressed in cold-weather clothing; commit to the look. I’ve never been in a scenario where my shoulders are the least cold part of my body. There is also a short-sleeved option, which I’m guessing is for warmer weather. So, enjoy your weird looking tan lines for the summer. Does anyone else understand my confusion with this trend?

2. Super low rise jeans

WHO THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA? Honestly, it is hard enough to buy ‘regular-rise’ jeans that don’t make you worried your ass is going to fall out whenever you sit down (#camisolesforthewin). Personally, I buy high-rise jeans, which aren’t as much ‘high rise’ as they are just jeans that sit at your waist, cover your butt, and don’t have that weird kangaroo-pouch style gap in the back. I feel as though super low rise jeans are just made for women who have no butt and don’t do activities such as sitting or reaching for anything up high or down low.

3. Bell sleeves

Why is this shape of sleeve even allowed to exist? What is the point of sleeves that can be compared to ‘fit and flare’ clothes? Are you Popeye? Do enough people have inordinately large forearms that this had to become a mass-produced style?

4. Shorts designed not to fit your ass

Is under-butt the new side boob? (I can’t believe I just typed that sentence). The POINT of clothing is to COVER YOUR BODY. Honestly how is this flattering?? Covering 75% of your butt will not do the trick. Sitting down anywhere would be disgusting. Like imagine sitting on a bench and now 60% of your ass is hanging out and touching this public place to sit. Gross. Ick. You’re going to get a skin infection and no one will feel bad for you.

5. Jeans with more rips than fabric

As I previously stated, clothing is used to cover one’s body. If your jeans are 30% material and 70% rips and shreds; you’re doing it wrong. Before this year, I had never purchased a pair of jeans with rips in my life. (The one pair I bought was a Tomgirl Café Denim-X style jean from American Eagle and they are amazing go buy some)

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.
