With fall weather comes scarves, boots, sweaters and the perfect chilly temperature for snuggling up under a blanket with an awesome TV series to watch. Fall is the season for brand new shows, and based on some of these shows' season premiere episodes, you won't want to miss them.

1. Designated Survivor (ABC).

If you're into action-packed dramas, this is the show for you. A "designated survivor" in American government is a U.S. Cabinet member that is selected to be hidden away during events such as the State of the Union Address. The idea is that the designated survivor would become the President in the event of a tragedy that killed everyone else in the line of succession for the presidency. In this show, actor Kiefer Sutherland plays the Secretary for Housing and Urban Development and is selected as the designated survivor. When the Capitol is attacked, Sutherland's character, Tom Kirkman, becomes the new President of the United States.

2. Notorious (ABC).

Following the line of the first entry on this list, "Notorious" is an American crime drama that features actress Piper Perabo as a news television producer. Her character works with a criminal defense lawyer, portrayed by Daniel Sunjata, to control the media during a high-profile criminal case. Their characters determine what the national headlines will be and makes viewers really consider the impact that the media has on the public.

3. How to Get Away With Murder (ABC).

The season 3 premiere of "How to Get Away With Murder," starring actress Viola Davis as a powerful and clever defense attorney named Annalise Keating, opens with a dead body on a stretcher being taken to an ambulance. To recap the previous two seasons, Annalise's team of law students have been in competition for an immunity trophy for her criminal law class. These students get caught up in a series of sticky situations, going so far as murder. If you need to catch up to season 3, you can find seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix.

4. This Is Us (NBC).

"This Is Us" is about different people all born on the same day and how their lives eventually cross paths. From having babies to getting married to struggling with body image, this show tells the story of how we are all connected. This show is about life and the journey we are all living. Although our lives look different on the outside, we are all fighting battles while experiencing the joy and sadness of life and love.

5. Atlanta (FX).

"Atlanta" tells the story of a character named Earn, portrayed by actor Donald Glover, and his struggle to reconnect with his cousin who is rising into stardom for his rapping skills as rapper "Paper Boi." The show goes through the daily life of Earn, a man who is homeless with a young daughter after dropping out of Princeton University, and his desperate attempt to get a piece of his cousin's success.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
