Around the holidays everyone has expectations. You imagine them to be the most magical days of your year. Between Christmas, Hanukah, and New Years Eve they are supposed to be some of the best days of the year filled with tons of fun and holiday cheer. The expectations for New Years Eve are at the highest they can be.
1. The New Year's Kiss.
Having the most magical New Years kiss is one of the biggest expectations of the night. If you do not already have a significant other you are most likely on the hunt for that perfect someone to seal the night with the first kiss of the new year. Unfortunately this does not always go as you planned. You might not meet that perfect someone or you might not be able to be with your significant other on this night. When you set your expectations high for this one you will most likely end up disappointed.
2. The Perfect Outfit.
For the perfect night you must have the perfect outfit. Finding the perfect outfit becomes way more stress then it needs to be. Everyone expects to find that one outfit that makes mouths drop when they walk into the room. But when you start shopping for that outfit you will most likely be disappointed when you don't find the perfect outfit that you had pictured in your mind. Try to go into the store with in mind that you might not find exactly what you are looking for, but you will find something that is perfect just for you.
3. That Goes Along With The Perfect Party.
You can't have the perfect kiss and outfit without the perfect party. Hoping to be at or throw the perfect party is a high expectation for the night. Everything must be amazing from the food, the people, the drinks, the kiss, and just the night in general.
4. A Night To Enjoy With Friends.
You expect it to be spent with all of your best friends as the ball drops and a new year begins. With all the cheering, drinking, and fun that can be had in one night. However, this isn't always the reality for New Years Eve. Some people have to work, some go to celebrate with their college friends, some with family friends, and concerts.
5. Nothing Can Go Wrong Its New Years Eve!
The classic saying "nothing can wrong", but all your expectations can end up in a heap of disappointments. The best way to approach the New Year is to go into it open minded ready for things not to go exactly as planned and not to set such high expectations for the night. I bet you will have one of the best nights if you ditch the expectations and let the night go with the flow.
