Valentine's Day is here! It's time to celebrate love in all of its pink and red glitter heart-sprinkled glory. It's also time for a lot of us to stress out about gifts one more time this year, and time for some more of us to be sad about some things that have happened to us and other things that haven't happened to us yet. I'm laying out some steps that each of us can take to turn the Valentine blues into a good time this year.
Give your dog (or cat, or bird, or rodent, etc.) a hug.
Because pets make better Valentines than most humans, anyway.
Do something nice for someone random.
You never know how being kind can brighten someone's day, and Valentine's Day is a sensitive subject for a lot of people.
Send a family member a card.
Without them, you wouldn't exist. Plus, who doesn't love cards?
Enjoy the day how YOU see fit.
Whether you're going on a romantic date with your significant other or representing for all the single ladies, do something to make the day memorable for yourself (i.e. buying a new outfit, trying a new restaurant, trying other things)
Two words: Chocolate sale
The day after Valentine's Day is when all the grocery and drug stores put their chocolate on major sale. So if you're willing to wait an extra day for your candy fix, you could reap some major rewards in the savings and quantity departments. You feel me?
