Ever wander through Pinterest or Tumblr and see bedrooms that make you want to cuddle up with a good book and a cup of tea? For me, making my bedroom feel cozy is a must—especially as we transition into the colder months. When I have a comfortable sanctuary to escape to, it adds a bit of warmth to the cool fall and winter days.
Here are a few tips and tricks to help you transform your bedroom into your own cozy space:
1. Add a piece of wood furniture.
Too much black and white can seem a bit lifeless. To add a rustic edge, include a few wood elements in your bedroom. The brown tones in the wood help to warm things up.
2. Add a few potted succulents.
I love having plants in my room because they help to bring in some life and they add a pop of color. A great place to get fresh succulents is farmers markets. I put mine in these small white pots from IKEA to help tie in the white theme.
3. All white bedding.
All white bedding brings about feelings of cleanliness and purity which, at least for me, puts me at ease and allows me to clear my mind.
4. Hang sheer fabric over fairy lights.
Bright lights can seem a bit harsh when trying to create a soothing space. Using fairy lights above your bed with a sheer fabric draped over them can diffuse the light and help to soften the brightness.
5. Utilize varying textures in shades of white and cream.
I love the look of a clothing rack when it's used as a decoration piece. To keep a simple theme to my room, I chose shades of black, white, and gray to hang on my rack. I also added a fluffy white rug to the bottom and a fluffy cream colored blanket to the top.
