Eating healthy in college is as hard as it gets. Constantly having things to do and always being on the go makes grabbing fast food the easiest solution to this problem. Don't give up just yet, here are five ways you can change bad habits and eat better.

1. WATCHING YOUR PORTIONS

Everyone loves to eat until they are full but measuring out your portions can easily help you drop some pounds. Being sure to eat the right amount of calories according to your body type is very helpful.

2. PREPPING YOUR FOOD

Prepping your breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the week is the easiest way to ensure that you always have food when you need it and making sure that you are eating your correct portions. Always having snacks in your car, desk at work, and so on will help you avoid stopping at a fast food place because you can substitute it with your emergency snack.

3. CHOOSING COLORS

Being sure that you are eating lots of colors is very helpful because it forces you to eat more fruits and vegetables. If your plate is looking dull and dark, that means you do not have enough vegetables and fruits on your plate.

4. SIMPLE SWITCHES

Try eating turkey ground instead of ground beef, whole wheat bread instead of white bread, natural creamer instead of normal creamer, starting with the small little switches will add up at the end of the day and benefit your health more than you know.

5. BEING ACTIVE FOR 30 MINUTES

Making sure that you are trying to get your heart rate up for at least thirty minutes a day is key to staying healthy. Set a timer and go for a walk or do cardio workouts in increments of 5 or 10.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
