It is now 2017, the New Year has begun, and we are all getting back into the swing of work and school. But with this new beginning, we all have resolutions that we intend to accomplish every year. But most people, like myself, often get lost and too busy to keep up with my goals. My resolutions quickly move to the back burner. So this year, I've decided to make 5 resolutions that I know I'll be able to keep.
5. Go outside for a walk.
I'm guilty, just like many, of staying indoors and getting caught up in a television show or a book, and never really experiencing the natural wonder that surrounds me. Taking more walks, enjoying the fresh air and just experiencing life outside will provide me with a refreshing and relaxing moment that I can enjoy for myself. Also, it's something that is easily obtainable.
4. Take baby steps to become more organized.
Clutter causes unnecessary stress, so taking some time to organize, clean and restructure more often is going to be a priority. It would allow for everyday life to be relaxing and simple, which is always a nice transition during a rough and long week.
3. Stay off my cellphone.
I don't get on my phone as much as you would expect, yet as a teenager, I still feel as though my cellphone plays such a huge part in my everyday life. So, I plan to spend less time behind the screen and do more productive things. I can go for a walk, organize, read a good book - I can do so much and not miss out on life. Instead, it will be even more enriched.
2. Strive for a healthier life style.
Although we are allowed a few exceptions every now and then, healthier living is always a goal. Replace soda with water, eat less sugar and more fruits, worry less and get more sleep. And although this may seem like a far cry for a college student, because of limited resources, make it a personal resolution to better yourself - you're worth it.
1. Less words, more action.
I ranked this one number one because I find it the most important. Instead of saying you'll do something, actually do it. Have the confidence you need, do yourself the good, allow yourself to experience things. Don't just talk about something, do something. Make a difference. Make a change. Failure or not, you're learning.
Even though these resolutions aren't much, they're a little part of what you can do for yourself everyday.
