Getting gifts for all the awesome people in your life when you're a broke college student is basically impossible (unless you're a part of some 1% of college students who aren't actually broke; in which case, I envy you). For everyone struggling with finding presents this year, DIY presents can be the best way to personalize a gift and save money. The problem is, DIY gifts can be super lame and played out, and we just don't have the kind of time on our hands to sit down and make a masterpiece. So here are five inexpensive, quick and awesome DIY gifts that your friends and family will actually love.

1. DIY Spa Kit

This gift is perfect for any girl you're looking to get a present for and is totally customizable as well. Whether your mom loves long soaks in the tub, or your BFF loves doing her nails, this is the DIY gift for them. You can also dress up the container (use a mason jar or small tub as pictured above) and make it super cute! If you're especially crafty, you can even make your own sugar scrubs with one of these recipes.

Cost to make: $10-20

Time to make: 5-10 minutes (depending on how much decoration you add)

2. Succulent Terrariums

This is one of my personal favorite gifts to make because it's a real plant that takes seriously no effort to keep alive, they look absolutely beautiful, and they are super fun to make. Plus, succulents cost almost nothing, so you can make multiple for lots of friends. You can vary the color and the look however you want, and your local craft store has all the supplies for you to completely personalize the look. If you're not into winging it like me, you can follow these directions to make your own.

Cost to make: $10-30

Time to make: 30min - 1hour (these little guys take some planning)

3. Scrap Book

For the friend you have loads of memories with, a scrapbook is a great idea. It might cost you a bit more and take some time, but the finished product is so worth it.

Cost to make: $30-50

Time to make: 2-6 hours (hopefully not all at the same time)

4. DIY Mug

I love mugs, and what college student doesn't love a coffee or hot cocoa? All you need are some sharpies, an oven and your creative self, or you can follow this link to get even more creative!

Cost to make: $5-15

Time to make: 10-60min

5. Light-up canvas

For the friend or family who loves decorating, this is the perfect gift for them. You could make it holiday themed, like pictured above, or you could get more personal and create something specific to the two of you. Then make sure you buy a battery-operated small pack of lights, add it to the picture, and you're set!

Cost to make: $15-35

Time to make: 1-2 hours

I hope this list can get you through the holidy season seemlessly, and you are deemed the best gift-giver of the year! Have a happy holiday.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
