Drinking tea is a growing trend that seems to be catching up to the popularity of coffee. It's a healthy, calming, and tasty beverage that is now being integrated into the daily diet for people of all ages!

1) Chamomile Tea~ For Sleep

Have trouble getting to sleep at night? Toss away your sleeping pills. Used by ancient Grecians and in the Roman Empire, chamomile has been a staple of holistic medicine and culture. Chamomile makes you feel sleepy because it calms your nervous system, slows you down, and mellows you out. While it's not recommended that chamomile tea be drank in the morning, it's perfect for sleepytime!

2) Cinnamon Tea~ For Women's Issues & Also Weight Loss

The 'pot of gold' for tea, cinnamon "contains antioxidants that that slow the natural cellular degeneration process and reduce the effects of free radicles"...in other words, cinnamon increases the bodies ability to burn fat and should be a go-too when you want to slim down. Women who suffer from PCOS or Endometriosis may also find particular benefit from cinnamon tea, because it regulates the menstrual cycle and is said to help in reducing the pain of 'cramps'.

3) Chai Tea~ For Pancreas Health & Antioxidants

Chai tea may be just what you want to add to your grocery list. It's the tastiest most "dessert like" tea and may help curve late night cravings for sweets. To make matters even better, Chai tea is also super good for you, and for a variety of other reasons. Chai tea is a black tea (which is said to be very good for pancreas health because it helps fats in food break down faster and more efficiently). Because of it's ability to aid in the breakdown of foods, Chai tea is best taken after meals. Chai tea also contains ginger and cinnamon- making it a great way to get some antioxidants in.

4) Peppermint Tea~ For Bloating & Stomach Aches

Feeling bloated? Have an upset stomach? Try peppermint tea before you jump to pain meds. Peppermint is natures anti-inflammatory, and therefore, brings down inflammation in your body helping ease bloating. Instead of just blocking pain like a pain med would do, it gets right at actually fixing your stomach ache.

5) Blueberry Tea~ Antioxidants

Blueberries are a food that would be found in at the fountain of youth! And likewise Blueberry tea is also packed with antioxidants, and is great for delaying the aging process.

6) Green Tea~ Appetite Suppressant & Men's Health

Green tea is great for many, as it is an appetite suppressant and will help prevent overeating. On a totally different note green tea is also especially good for men, and is said to improve prostate health and regulate hormones.


Things to add in:


*Honey~For Colds, and Throat Soothing

Honey is natures antibiotic. And helps fight bacterial infections, as well as sooth a raw and sore throat. If you have a cold- the best thing you can do for yourself aside from rest is to drink warm tea with honey or swallow a spoonful of honey.

*Lemon~For Alertness, and Immune Health

Adding lemon to your tea is best done in the morning. It's citric smell and flavor wakes you up and makes you feel vibrant. Lemon is also packed with vitamin C and therefore is great for immune system health. So while the honey is great when you already are sick...the lemon will help prevent you from getting there in the first place.

So, Pinkies Up! Enjoy Some Tea! Experiment with different kinds, and allow a holistic practice that has been used for centuries across the globe to enter your home and heart!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.
