After being in college for almost two months, I’ve already noticed that college is definitely on another level than high school. Although, this weekend will be my first experience of “Halloweekend,” I can already anticipate the distinct differences I will see when I go out.

1. No dress codes.

That’s right, ladies and gentlemen! No need to cover up because you know people will be flaunting what they got. I know it’s up to you to decide what you want to wear, but please remember that it’s going to be freezing outside.

2. No trick-or-treating.

Sadly, we are grown adults now (unless you're short like me and people still think you’re in middle school), which means no more going around your neighborhood and getting free candy. I guess, technically, you can still try to go around your dorms, but I wouldn’t take candy from a random college student (if you know what I mean).

3. More than one costume.

Halloweekend means going out on both Friday and Saturday night! Remember to plan two costumes, unless you want to wear the same outfit two nights in a row, which is acceptable for Halloween I guess.

4. No fancy costumes.

Ain’t nobody got time to make an awesome costume! Also, your costume will probably fall apart throughout the night, so don’t go for anything too expensive that you don’t want to lose.

5. FUN FUN FUN!

Unlike that lame high school Halloween party you went to, college Halloween parties are going to be way better. Go out, have fun, and enjoy yourself while you can! Halloween is that one time of the year you are accepted for dressing however you want.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
