Holidays are the perfect time to let you inner baker run wild. Here are some of my favorite holiday desserts to bake that don't require much skill and taste amazing. Most people would agree that a little box of treats makes a perfect holiday gift. So, if you're looking for some baking inspiration, here's a few goodies to get you started.

1. Peppermint Bark

This may not be a favorite for those who aren't fans of mint, but if candy canes are your taste, then you'll love peppermint bark. Crushing candy canes is a lot of fun and can let out some of those last minute holiday stresses. Made with a max of three ingredients, peppermint bark is a simple holiday delicacy.

2. Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are a classic favorite. Holidays are all about tradition, so you can't go wrong with a traditional chocolate chip cookie. They're best when they're fresh out of the oven and still full of ooey gooey goodness. Yum!

3. Seven Layer Bars

Seven layer bars go by a lot of names but all have the same delicious taste. As the name states, these babies have seven components, but they're as simple as piling stuff on in layers. These bars are my family's favorite, and I've never met someone who doesn't like them. They're so good that if you have never had them, you need to get to the store and buy the ingredients right now. Go.

4. Peanut Butter Blossoms

These little cookies are melt in your mouth heaven. A perfect mixture of chocolate and peanut butter, you'll be grabbing a glass of milk to polish of a perfect mouthful. They're incredibly easy to make, and a simple plop of a chocolate kiss takes them a step up from plain peanut butter cookies.

5. Gingerbread Cookies

Gingerbread cookies are a holiday classic. Whether you decorate them as little people, a house, or any other shape, they're easy to make and fun to decorate. If you're looking for more of a crunch and a unique flavor away from all of the chocolate, these are the dessert for you. Decorating gingerbread cookies with your family or friends is a great way to make holiday memories.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
