This past week has not been an easy one. Emotions are running high and there is a sense of sadness, anger, and panic. There are things to do to deal with these emotions and work harder to remind yourself that there are ways to change what might come with the president-elect. You can attend protests, surround yourself with like-minded people, sign petitions, and remind Trump what it is that you want from the president. However, right now can also be a time where you make the best of what you have. Here is a list of things you can access in order to give yourself just a sliver of happiness when you’re feeling sad. Also, added bonus that this does not need to apply to people that might have negative feelings in light of the recent election, but can be for anyone who needs a small pick-me-up.
1. The Lion in Your Living Room
Netflix has an abundance of documentaries that you can watch whenever you’re itching for a bit of education, including this gem. It’s a short documentary about house cats, and it is especially cute (even more if you’re a cat person, which I am, if you can’t tell from this list).
2. bonnienclydekitties
This Instagram account has been posting videos and pictures of these two lovely Blue Point Himalayan cats for years. They are the fluffiest cats you will ever see and if they don’t brighten your day even slightly, you are welcome to write an angry comment, although I don’t think you’ll have to.
These are two very popular Youtubers who happen to be a couple with an extraordinary dog. Not only is there dog incredibly adorable and ridiculous, but the two vloggers are some of the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen. They inspire me to try to get my life in order and they get slightly overexcited for the holidays, which is a must for me.
- Pictures of my cats, Fluffy and Samson respectively:
These two are some of the most important creatures alive right now.
- Ferguson the Cat from New Girl
Simply Googling pictures of this cat will make your day infinitely better than it would be otherwise.
