You read the title of the article correctly, "Five Crystals You Should Have." Now I know what you might be thinking, "Why would I even want to collect crystals? What would I get out of it?". Crystals actually possess healing properties, which can help balance your energy. By using different crystals, you can; increase, decrease, and alter unseen energy levels. When you go out and buy crystals, keep in mind they do not have to be very expensive; a small $4 stone will do just as well as a $40 stone. These are just five out of the many crystals you can collect for yourself, perfect for when you are just starting collecting crystals.

1. Clear Quartz

Clear Quartz is simply an amplifier crystal. It will amplify any energy level, whether that be your own or another crystal you are using. I personally enjoy having one around at all times, mine is on a necklace so it can amplify my energy level wherever I go. Clear Quartz can come in many forms; small to large pieces, pendents, wands, clusters, and in spheres. This crystal is a definite must have for starting your collection.

2. Citrine

This beautiful crystal actually can start out as amethyst or even smokey quartz. What happened to this stone was, it was heated by the Earth and became that beautiful orange color. Now this crystal's color can range from a champagne color all the way to a deep ice tea color, depending how long it was in heat. Don't fret about the color of the crystal though, the color has no impact on how it reacts with your energy levels. Citrine has this positive, almost creative and happy energy about it which is great if you personally feel like you are having a creative road block. This crystal is perfect for that creative side that you always want to keep in touch with.

3. Rose Quartz

This is arguably one of the most attractive crystals, which is one of it's amazing qualities. It is a considered "The stone of Love" and this is because of it's; calming, gentle, and compassionate energy levels. This is perfect for those times that you feel like you need a little bit more love or want to share those compassionate feelings to others. I personally always like to have it with me either in my room or with me when I go over to a friend's house to spread those loving and compassionate feelings.

4. Green Aventurine

Surprisingly, this is another type of quartz! Be careful when looking for this crystal, and make sure you search for Green Aventurine; it's rare but it does come in other colors. It's a common healing stone, a go-to stone for any afflictions. It's all about an exuberance of anything; health, growth, finances, confidence, and friends.

5. Amethyst

This purple quartz is known for protection and purification. It is also known to help with enhance intuition and can help with the release of addictions, which is always a plus. This is another crystal that I personally love to always have around, I usually have it on a necklace as well for overall protection and purification for my energy when I go to school or out in public in general. You'd be surprise how much other people's energies can effect yours.

These are just five out of the many crystals out there, and like I stated in the beginning, you do not need to spend a lot of money on these crystals. You can have multiple smaller ones, there's no limit to how many of one crystal you can own. So go out and find crystals, even if you're not keen on buying one yet. See if you get any "vibes" from holding these crystals, you'd be surprised how awesome it can be to find that perfect crystal.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
