From an early age, watching couples on TV was how we began to view relationships and form concepts of how they are supposed to be. Without our TV relationship goals, what else would we have? Here are some of the TV power couples we've all either grown to adore.
1. Jackie Burkhart and Michael Kelso (That 70's Show)
If their off-screen romance isn't enough to win you over then I don't know what is. These two were our seventies sweethearts for 8 years, and will always find a way to make us smile at their witty banter. The two teenagers constantly were dealing with some sort of drama or upset, but no matter how many times he calls her "annoying" or she calls him "an idiot" they remain perfect (we are going to ignore the latter seasons where life declined after Eric left). Jackie was a brat, and Kelso was too much of a flirt, but their love was always undeniable.
2. Cory Matthews and Topanga Lawrence (Boy Meets World)
From Boy Meets World to the new re-vamped version Girl Meets World (starring their "children"), these two have seen it all. I mean literally since the stroller stage, he used to throw dirt at her, these two actually grew up together and eventually fell in love. They even fictionally get married on the popular nineties TV show that so many millennials grew up watching. If you have never seen or read the bit where Cory tells his mother why he loves Topanga, I would highly suggest it (bring lots of tissues, it is beautiful).
3. Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf (Gossip Girl)
Both began as spoiled adolescents but together they matured into beautiful young people who throughout their obstacles loved each other immensely. These two throughout the six roller-coaster seasons, will break your heart and super glue it back together hundreds of times, but in the end it is so worth it. Their love is unlike any other, they are each other's Bonnie and Clyde. They manipulate others, play ruthless games, but together they make the most beautiful and powerful couple the television world will ever know. But the most famous Blair-Chuck-ism has to be: "Three words, eight letters, say them and I'm all yours."
4. Alex Vause and Piper Chapman (Orange is the New Black)
Their unique, steamy and risque past brings a whole new level of emotion when it comes to on-screen relationships. From protecting each other in their previous drug-infested lives, to having each other's backs in Litchfield Penitentiary, although rough, their relationship is very passionate and full of love. Prison might not seem like the most romantic setting, but they both seem to make it function just fine.
5. Jim and Pam Halpert (The Office)
Who knew being work colleagues at the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company would lead to a happy marriage and two beautiful children? Midways through the life cycle of The Office, the two get married. This quote about planning to marry his dear Pam, most accurately describes how in love they are: "The boat was plan C. The church was plan B. And plan A was marrying her a long, long time ago. Pretty much the day I met her." If that isn't goals, I don't know what is.
You can't get much better than a solid TV romance.
