We all have days where we just can't seem to shake those lousy feelings. Luckily for you, I have a few tips that can really help improve your mood!

1. Take a nice, long shower.

What's more relaxing than taking a warm shower on a cold day; especially if you're feeling down? Once you get into the shower, make sure you take your time scrubbing away all the bullshit you have acquired throughout the day... And of course, don't forget to play some of your favorite music while you're showering, that way your roommates won't be able to hear your sobs and cries for help.

2. Go for a stroll.

Ah, what could be better than the great outdoors when you're feeling blue? Whether you live in the middle of bumblef*ck, or in a smelly, rodent-infested city, some fresh air can always help with unwinding after a bad day. Maybe during your travels, you can even greet some of those other weirdos who like to go on walks alone. If you're lucky enough, you might even run into a cute couple taking an evening stroll! Make sure you display your intense bitterness over being single by making obnoxious puking noises as you hurriedly walk past them. Ah, young love!

3. Talk with a friend.

What are friends for, if not being there for you when you're feeling down? Meet up with a good pal, grab some coffee, and spill your guts! You'll be surprised how much better it'll make you feel to watch your so called "friend" stare blankly at your tear-filled eyes, as they wait until you're finally done complaining to only disregard every single word you had just sobbed out, and then proceed to go on a tirade about their own personal issues! I mean, REALLY, what better way to feel better about yourself than to know your friends hate their lives as well?!

4. Do something you enjoy.

Always remember to make some time for yourself! Maybe watch your favorite show on Netflix, crack open a good book, or you can curl up into the fetal position under a nice, fuzzy blanket, and have a mental breakdown as your crippling anxiety consumes you. The last option is one of my own personal favorites.

5. Seek out professional help.

If you find yourself never being able to come out of your funk, maybe it's time to get some help. Make sure you find a therapist you feel comfortable with, because you're most likely going to ugly-cry in front of them on a weekly basis. If you cry enough, maybe you'll get lucky and your therapist will throw a prescription for anti-depressants at you! Then, you won't have to worry about doing numbers 1 to 4 ever again!

I hope these tricks help! And remember, reaching out for help is nothing to be ashamed of! Unless you're a male, then you need to suck it up and refuse to show any signs of weakness, ever. Good luck!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
