Long gone are the days of showing up at businesses and dropping off a resume. Social media and technology seem to make our world smaller and smaller every single day. You're more aware of different companies and industries; with just a few clicks you can apply to any job anywhere. But with this extended online reach comes the possibility that you might have to relocate.

From the time I was old enough to realize how much I hated the cold I knew I always wanted to live in a warmer place (p.s. I grew up in Atlanta so it wasn't that cold, I'm just a giant wuss). But until my last semester of college, the idea of moving away from my home state was never a real possibility.

For me, I always wanted to work for Disney, and that meant warm weather was in my future. It was a win-win for me.

No matter the reason you're planning on moving for--career, personal or maybe you just really like the location--take it from me, you need to really think this out. I've moved out of my state twice now and am considering moving a third time.

Here are five things to consider before deciding if you want to move out-of-state:

1. Do you have a job?

This is an important question to ask yourself. If you have enough money saved up to financially support yourself and all your expenses for awhile then go for it. However, if you don't, you are taking an extremely high-risk. For my own sanity, I needed to have a job before moving to Orlando.

2. Do you know anyone?

There's a sense of security you have when all your friends and family are close-by, but what if they're not? You shouldn't let this deter you from taking a giant leap of faith. There's a million ways to get involved with organizations and find people that share a lot of your same interests. I made some of my best friends by moving out-of-state for my Disney College Program.

3. Do you like where you're moving?

This seems obvious, but there is actually a lot to consider. Maybe where you move has extremely long and harsh winters, or maybe there's a lot of rain like in the North West United States. I know for me, the climate and seasons of where I'm moving play an important factor. I know I would never make it in a cold and rainy place.

4. What is the cost of living?

A $50,000 salary in Atlanta and a $50,000 salary in San Francisco might as well have two totally different meanings. Make sure you research what the living expenses are like in whatever location you might move to, and make sure your salary is able to compensate the difference in cost of living.

5. How will you get around?

Are you moving to New York City or Chicago? You will be extremely dependent on the public transportation systems versus places like Atlanta or Orlando where you will most certainly need to have a car to get places. A car is an extra expense, and just something that needs to be considered before moving.

Moving can be hard and scary, but speaking from experience, I can honestly saying moving is one of the best decisions I've made for myself. I've learned so much about myself, how to meet new people and I've always got a job I love.

Trust your gut (after you do copious amounts a research), pack the car and go.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
